Adam Kahane is a Director of Reos Partners, an international social enterprise that helps people move forward together on their most important and intractable issues.
Adam is a leading organizer, designer, and facilitator of processes through which business, government, and civil society leaders can work together to address challenges. He has worked in more than fifty countries and in every part of the world, with executives, politicians, generals, guerrillas, civil servants, trade unionists, community activists, United Nations officials, clergy and artists.
In his new book, Facilitating Breakthrough: How to Remove Obstacles, Bridge Differences, and Move Forward Together, Adam offers a broad and bold vision for how leaders can help diverse people work together to effect systemic transformation.
This book describes an uncommon approach to facilitating such breakthrough: transformative facilitation. This approach focuses on removing the obstacles that stand in the way of people contributing and connecting equitably. More fundamentally, it focuses on removing the obstacles to love, power, and justice. It enables people to bring all of themselves to making a difference. It is a liberating way to make progress.
This book is for anyone who helps people work together to transform their situation, be it a professional facilitator, a manager, consultant, coach, chairperson, organizer, mediator, stakeholder, or friend. It offers a broad and bold vision of the contribution that proper facilitation can have to helping people collaborate to make progress.
We look forward to seeing you at the Facilitating Breakthrough Event Series. These events are virtual and open for all to join. Individual registration is required for each event. Registrants will receive a replay recording after the event.
